Cedar Point trip

Cedar Point - Sandusky, Ohio

Voted as One of Best Amusement Park. Definitely it is, not only because of a number of world-class rides for all ages, or because it has been known as one of the best for years, but because it’s just amazing.

Cedar Point has a huge parking lot, so you'll never run out of parking space, but parking is paid (reasonably). As you drive in the Cedar point area, you'll start seeing the high profiles of the roller-coasters and other high-rise rides. As you go close, you’ll start to experience the awesomeness. Built on a 364 acre land in Sandusky, Ohio, Cedar Point is surrounded by beautiful and flowing Lake Erie. If you’re looking for an trip that will provide something for all age group, I highly recommend Cedar Point if you are near to the Ohio.

A little Cedar Point history - Cedar Point was founded in 1870. Prior to 1870 the Cedar Point Peninsula was mainly used for fishing and hunting. However, that all changed with an editorial in the local newspaper in 1867 calling on some enterprising person to utilize the magnificent beach on the lake side of Cedar Point. In the summer of 1870, local business-person Louis Zistel opened a small beer garden, bathhouse and dance floor on the peninsula. He would bring guests over to Cedar Point on his steamboat, Young Reindeer, for the modest price of 25 cents. By the 1880s it was noted in the local paper that sailing and bathing parties to Cedar Point are all the rage.
The history of thrill rides at Cedar Point began in 1892 with the introduction of the peninsula’s first roller coaster, the Switchback Railway. The addition of the 25-foot-tall, 10-mph scream machine would forever shape the future of Cedar Point. Later years would bring a wide variety of rides, roller coasters, games, shows and more. Now Cedar Point is the ultimate amusement park that more than 3 million guests trek to each and every summer.

Continuing ... as we got in we started seeing our colleagues and that was the start of the fun. I immediately started taking pictures of every corner I was looking at. I would like to say that few things you must bring when you come to Cedar Point - a Hat, Sun-glasses and apply the sunscreen. Even if you forgot, don't worry, there are many shops where you can buy all these stuff. Wear layers of clothing, as depending on the weather. Even if the day is sunny and hot, evening will be cool. You’ll start feeling from hot to cool – tie a light jacket around your waist, or store your stuff in a locker for the day. Wear a comfortable footwear like sports shoes as you'll have to walk a lot.

Cedar Point rides

Cedar point has a variety of rides. Several types of roller-coasters - Blue Streak, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Corkscrew, GateKeeper, Gemini, Iron Dragon and many more. My favorite was - maXair and WindSeeker.
Family Rides range from low thrill to moderate thrill (1-3). Of special interest is the train – take the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad around part of the park. It’s slow, easy, and a good way to glimpse some behind the scenes action. There are some special things to see on the railroad – keep your eyes opened for some funny acts. This was one of our favorite things to do, and we rode it twice in a row. Also good for being in the shade and off your feet.

Shopping

You can shop at the many stores in Cedar Point, or take your chances on games. We sat and watched one Cedar Point employee guess the age, weight, or birth month of many customers. She was good, but more often than not, the guest won their prize. It was fun! There are also caricature booths, if you’d like to be immortalized that way.

Cedar Point beach

Cedar Point is surrounded by Lake Erie. By the day was being over, we decided to go to the beach. Find one of the entrances to the beach, and dip your toes (or more) in warm Lake Erie. It is especially refreshing and picturesque at sunset. We spent some time on the beach and enjoyed the sunset.

Evening at Cedar Point -

We stayed at Cedar Point as late as it was possible. As we were still enjoying the rides, it was so amazing views of the colorful lights all over the park. Each ride has its own colors and glowing like colorful stars.

Luminosity, the live show

In the end of the evening we enjoyed the live show - Luminosity. The show was full of awesome music, colors and fireworks. We ended our day with a bang!

Finally, there were no words to explain more how much fun this trip was !
