How to register .Net 4.5.1 with IIS8 on windows 10

You can use the dism tool to enable features built into Windows. To install .NET 4.5 (or 4.6, they're the same since it's the same CLR4 underneath) into IIS, I think this will work:
dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:IIS-ASPNET45 /all
The /all flag will include any dependencies so you don't have to figure them all out.
You can also see all of the available features by running:
dism /online /get-features
As an aside, aspnet_regiis was used when you needed to install a version of the CLR into IIS. Since all versions of .NET since 4.0 use the same CLR versions, this is now built into the Windows features. So you use DISM to enable the feature instead.

Error 203 using Visual Studio 2010 to connect to Cloud TFS

I was trying to connect VS2010 Project onto Team Foundation Server on cloud, and received following error -
HTTP code 203: Non-Authoritative Information

Solution:
The following are the prerequisites that are required to accomplish this task.
  1. Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Team Foundation Server 2012 Compatibility GDR - This patch found here provides compatibility between all VS2010 products that connect to Team Foundation Server 2012 (on premise) or the Team Foundation Sever on the Cloud
  2. You must have Service Pack 1 for Visual Studio 2010 installed before installing the hot-fix above.

After installing the prerequisites, fire up Visual Studio 2010 and click on File > Open > Team Project from the IDE to connect to TFS

Thumbnails of a YouTube Video

All the different thumbnail sizes of a YouTube video are accessible from a standard format. All you need is the unique video ID (viewable in the URL of your video).
Thumbnail Image Format: http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/FILENAME.jpg The file name depends on which thumbnail size you are looking for.

There are several to choose from:
  • http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/0.jpg or
    http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/default.jpg – full size thumb
  • http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/mqdefault.jpg – medium default
  • http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/maxresdefault.jpg – high res
  • http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/1.jpg – small thumb
  • http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/2.jpg - small thumb
  • http://img.youtube.com/vi/THE-VIDEO-ID/3.jpg - small thumb

Example Usage

Using this information and the Advanced Custom Fields WordPress plugin allowed me to have the client simply enter the ID of the video they wanted, and the rest was taken care of by the code and CSS. The thumbnail is displayed in an HTML element that is styled as if it were a player; with a video frame background image and an overlaid transparent play button. I then had this open a a modal window with the embedded video.

DNN - Error 2 The "MSBuild.Community.Tasks.XmlRead" task could not be loaded...

If you are using Christoc's DotNetNuke Module Development Template, you might run into the error when trying to publish - "Error 2 The "MSBuild.Community.Tasks.XmlRead" task could not be loaded..."

Here are the possible solutions -
  1. Try creating a new project or installing the templates again.
  2. Create a \packages\MSBuildTasks.1.4.0.45\tools\ inside my desktopmodules/myproject and place the  MSBuild.Community.Tasks.dll there...
    Rebuild project and the install folder is there with the package created.
  3. From VS 2012 go to Tools > Library Package Manager > Package Manager Console
    After Package Manager Console loads, type the following command -
    PM> Install-Package MSBuildTasks
    You should get the following messages:
    Successfully installed 'MSBuildTasks 1.4.0.45'.
    Successfully added 'MSBuildTasks 1.4.0.45' to ($CustomModule).
    Delete temporary file
    Copying MSBuild Community Tasks files to ($SolutionDir)\Website\DesktopModules
    ($CustomModule)\Build
    Don't forget to commit the Build folder
    Installing MSBuild Community Tasks Targets file import into project ($CustomModule)
    Import will be added for: $(SolutionDir)\Build\MSBuild.Community.Tasks.targets
    Import added!

    You should now be able to rebuild your module in Release mode.
1>------ Build started: Project: [projectname], Configuration: Release Any CPU ------
1>CSC : warning CS1607: Assembly generation -- The version '00.00.01.*' specified for the 'file version' is not in the normal 'major.minor.build.revision' format
1>  [projectname] -> [projectpath][projectname].dll
2>------ Publish started: Project: [projectname], Configuration: Release Any CPU ------
2>Connecting to C:\Dev\[projectname]Publish...
2>Copying all files to temporary location below for package/publish:
2>obj\Release\Package\PackageTmp.
2>Publishing folder /...
2>Publishing folder App_LocalResources...
2>Publishing folder bin...
2>Site was published successfully [projectpath][projectname]Publish

Telerik Rad Tab cutoff issue

vs

There is a known limitation of RadTabStrip's overlapping tabs rendering. Since parts of the tabs are rendered inside the next/previous tabs. What can be done with a custom skin if the overlapping effect is done with changing the selected tab position to relative in order to get it on top. This however will have some undesired issues in IE6/7 if RadTabStrip is placed in a scrolling container without set position: relative.
I managed a solution to this issue through a simple CSS which handles the tabs to their desired width and wrap where necessary -

 .rtsLI,
 .rtsLink,
 .rtsLast,
 .rtsFirst,
 .rtsAfter,
 .rtsOut,
 .rtsIn
 {
        width: auto !important;
 }

Add above code anywhere inside the <style> tag or in any of your CSS file that you are using on the site with tab cutoff issue.
I hope this helps many of you facing same issue.
